What it does
Privacy-first Server Log Analytics aggregates page views, 404s, bots, HTTP results, approved referrer domains, and broad device/OS/browser categories from gzipped daily access logs that a web server already produces.
It uses no cookies, visitor IDs, fingerprinting, or browser beacons. It also never stores IP addresses, raw User-Agents, complete referrers, query strings, individual requests, copied raw logs, visitor counts, or sessions.
Information for improvement
Only pages in a published-route manifest become page views, so test and unknown URLs cannot become popular pages. Unknown URLs retain no path: they only become a safe 404 category of page or static asset. Static assets are excluded from page views, and known bots are reported separately.
The dashboard shows both daily and monthly changes. Daily aggregates expire after 90 days by default, while monthly aggregates expire after 24 months.
Deployment
Only the administrator page is public. Configuration, SQLite DB, sessions, locks, access logs, and backups all remain outside DocumentRoot. It targets ordinary shared hosting that provides PHP / PDO SQLite, Cron, and daily access logs.
For Cloudfree-style shared hosting, the repository includes a Cron example that is scheduled only after the provider’s daily log is ready. The bilingual documentation also covers installation, permission examples, backup, and restore.
What is published
The public repository excludes this site’s name, logo, characters, third-party icons, and all live paths, configuration, route manifests, databases, logs, and password hashes. The code and documentation are available under Apache License 2.0.
