What it does

Y-TEC Wi-Fi Capsule selects saved Windows Wi-Fi profiles, stores them in a dedicated encrypted file, and restores them on another PC. You can select profiles again during restore instead of importing everything at once. Version 1.1.0 adds Japanese and English interfaces and initially follows the Windows display language.

Getting started

Choose a Wi-Fi adapter and profiles on the backup screen, then save a .ywcwifi file. On restore, review the backup date and profile count, choose the destination adapter and profiles, and proceed. Overwriting an existing profile with the same name is disabled by default. There is no passphrase or key file to carry.

Data and safety

Wi-Fi profile XML is encrypted in memory and never written to a plaintext temporary file. AES-256-CBC and HMAC-SHA-256 are combined in an Encrypt-then-MAC design that verifies integrity before decryption. The app has no network communication, cloud sync, authentication, analytics, or automatic updates.

The official distribution key is kept outside the public repository and embedded only during release builds. A standard build from the public source uses the documented public development key and is intentionally incompatible with official-release backups. Neither design is intended to resist an expert who can analyze the executable or memory, so do not publish or share backup files.

About this build

On September 28, 2026, version 1.1.0 was rebuilt and republished after auditing the current source and downloads. Final Y-TEC EXE/DLL signatures and timestamps were verified using the existing Y-TEC self-signed certificate. This is a Preview, not a trusted commercial-CA or SignPath signature; SmartScreen warnings may remain. No certificate is automatically installed into Trusted Root.

The ZIP SHA-256 is e360ea74c475b526d86adb1bc250fe80b99127a82a1ebda93df2c6cec8dc46d6. See the SHA-256 manifest and public certificate. The ZIP contains Japanese and English HTML/PDF manuals; the Japanese PDF is also available separately. The GitHub Release provides identical files.

Source is published under Apache License 2.0 with existing NOTICE attribution/trademark conditions and third-party notices retained. Microsoft Store distribution is not available; updates are downloaded manually from Forge or GitHub. This republication was exercised with synthetic data on Windows 11; older Windows versions, real Wi-Fi profiles and the live UAC path were not tested. Contact Y-TEC Forge without attaching real Wi-Fi data.
