What it is designed to do

Y-TEC Tsumugi Drive is a native Windows x64 app for disk cloning, .tsumugi image creation and restore, boot repair, and rescue-media creation. Windows and WinPE editions are being designed to keep selection, execution, and verification in one controlled session.

Operation flow

Operations follow one consistent sequence: choose targets, run read-only preflight, confirm the target and destructive effect, execute, read back every write, and report the result. Disk numbers alone are never trusted; the app rechecks model, capacity, connection, stable identity, and partition layout.

Safety and verified scope

Source readers and target writers are separated, and unknown layouts or identity changes stop before writing. The .tsumugi v1 format is designed for optional Argon2id and AES-256-GCM encryption, chunk verification, and recorded missing ranges in rescue images.

Automated tests, static analysis, offline VMs, and synthetic-disk validation cover substantial foundations, but complete product flows, 4Kn media, physical USB, representative hardware, and real boot acceptance are not finished.

Development build status

The current development identifier is 1.0.0-internal-beta, not stable 1.0.0. No general-use binary is available. Do not use it with important data or as your only backup. Source code is available under the Apache License 2.0.

Source and documentation republication

On September 29, 2026, the reviewed source and Japanese/English operation manuals were republished. Old Git history, ZIPs, EXEs and PDFs were not carried forward; the manuals were freshly generated from the selected source. General product-ZIP distribution and representative hardware acceptance remain on hold. The first hardware clone test’s completion error (1168) is not considered passed until a same-configuration retest.

The pinned source has Japanese UI. English manual control names are explanatory translations.
